Your web page(s) will consist of files placed on a 'web server'.  A web server is a computer somewhere with lots of disk storage space that will 'serve' your files to other computers that 'request' them.  You can rent disk space on someone's server.  If you want to find out what is available and prices, you can do a web search on 'web hosting'. 
     If you rent space on a server, and plan to put up your own Website, you will have to know or learn how to create your own .html and other files and how to load them to the server.  Some web hosting providers also do publishing.  You can shop for these services.  You will also need to learn how to properly prepare your photos for display on the Net.  If they aren't compressed, they may take so long to load that your visitors will go away frustrated without looking at all of your pages.  Worse, they won't come back.  If your photos are not compressed properly, they will lose quality and won't look their best on the WWW.

    Quite a few large servers offer 'free' Websites.  They do this to build huge traffic to their sites.  Like network TV, they are supported by their advertisers.  The free Webpages are bait to get LOTS of traffic to their systems.  Usually you have to display their banners and pop-up ads on your pages.  Some free web sites are:  Yahoo/Geocities, XOOM, Angelfire, Tripod, Bigfoot - there are many others.  You also might get free space from your ISP, such as AOL. 

       About FREE Websites:  They each have their own rules and policies.  They offer different services  and tools.  Some can not be used for business purposes, but only for 'personal' web pages.  You will have to shop.  Some of them provide tools and help for you to learn to publish your own site, and some of them sell the tools.  They each have some advantages and some limitations.  The policies of the free servers can change at any time, causing you problems, and even interruption of service.  Consider carefully if your business can stand that.  Read their terms of use carefully.  If you violate them, they may remove your Website.
         PERFORMANCE of free sites:  Response time on free servers is sometimes slow because they are usually high volume servers.  They derive their income from their advertisers, NOT from the clients that use their free websites.  Their priorities are to keep their ADVERTISERS happy. 

Though AAAWWW CAN publish to most of the free sites, we have decided not to do it anymore.  Our hosting charge is almost free, and it is easier to use our own server, so we can do it MUCH MORE ECONOMICALLY if we do it all on one server.  The PERFORMANCE of our server is BETTER than average, too.  Since we do sites with lots of graphics and photos, the PERFORMANCE of our Server is of primary importance.  The beautiful designs we do for our clients won't be blighted by pop up junk advertising, either.
