After touring Springfield on Monday night, I headed up to Chicago, cruising through Bloomington/Normal on the way.  We were cruising into Chicago on Tuesday morning just when I heard on the radio talk shows about Governor Blago being BUSTED : )))))   I was doing a 'happy dance' right there in the van.  Felt like Dorothy's house had just dropped on the wicked witch!  This is because last year when I toured here with this van, I had signs on BOTH sides saying, IL BOOT THE GOV.  We had tried to get Gov. Blago to VETO the statewide smoking ban, which went into effect last January 1st.  Now, we are BOYCOTTING The People's Republic of Illinois, until this unconstitutional smoking ban in privately owned restaurants and bars is REPEALED.  We don't buy ANY produce or products from Illinois.  When I am traveling in IL, I buy as little gas there as possible, and also carry food in a cooler, to minimize purchases in that state.  IF I had a bank account in IL, I would MOVE it somewhere else where there is not a ban.

On the way home from Chicago, we (I had 3 dogs with me) rode through Champaign/Urbana.  In the morning, we toured the Capitol of Indiana, The People's Republic of Indianapolis.  Indiana does not have a statewide ban, so I am not boycotting Indiana.  I AM boycotting ALL counties and cities in Indiana which have smoking bans, which includes Indianapolis, Greenwood, Greenville, Greenfield, Bloomington, Seymour, Evansville, Columbus, Shelbyville, Jeffersonville, South Bend, and all the rest of them.  If they don't like my smoke, THEY DON'T LIKE MY MONEY!  My favorite gas and food stop in Indiana is the Flying J at Whiteland, about 10 minutes south of Indy.  (below photo is the Indiana State Capitol)

This photo was taken at about 4:30 PM, and it was almost dark already.  I took several of the Hosanna Afghan Hounds to dog shows in Belleville, IL on Dec. 6-7.  The Liberty Van is our 'dog show mobile'.  One of our girls, Hosanna Everlasting Love (we call her Eve) won a major on Saturday!  We cruised St. Louis on Saturday and Sunday nights, and after the shows did a bit of touring in Illinois and Indiana. 

Santa, on the roof, has a big black bag full of COAL for all the bad little anti-smoking nazis everywhere.  For those who have forgotten, "The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, and the smoke curled around him....like a wreath...."  (from The Night Before Christmas).

Yes, SANTA CLAUSE IS A SMOKER!  And he AIN'T happy with all these smoking bans!

The Liberty Van toured quite a bit in Kentucky during December as well.  We covered Lexington and info Northern Kentucky, and Frankfort, Summerset, Campbellsville, Columbia, and parts in between.  We also toured Louisville, and Elizabethtown a couple of times, and as usual made many shopping trips to Bowling Green and Glasgow, Kentucky. 

It's been WONDERFUL FUN traveling everywhere with the Liberty Van.  We turned 197,000 miles on this now 4.5 year old van on this trip.  It's covered about 150,000 miles since we began this project in December, 2005.  Most folks who don't agree with me are smiling and taking LOTS of pictures! . Smokers are hanging out windows on freeways from Maine to Florida to The People's Republic of California, CHEERING, and BLOWING KISSES at the van  Even the great majority of those who DO NOT SMOKE tell me they think the anti-smoking movement has gone WAY TOO FAR.  Gee, many of them LIVE WITH, LOVE, have FAMILY or FRIENDS who ARE SMOKERS.  THEY don't like to see their grandmothers freezing out in -40 degree wind chill in The People's Republic of Washington State! (for instance)   We've met MANY FANTASTIC people.  LOTS of picture takers, TOO. 

This is NOT about 'me'.  It's about FREEDOM.  I call this the Liberty Van (rather than 'smoker's rights van') because it's about preserving ALL our private property rights in this country.  Besides attacks on business owners rights via smoking bans, and attacks on animal owner's rights due to AR sponsored legislation (plus the -Federal-National Animal Identification System), we have abuses of eminent domain.  All our homes are now in danger from any 'tin hat' city council, now that our 'supreme court' has defined 'wanting a bigger tax base' to be a 'government use' of YOUR home you've worked for all your life.

The SUPREME 'PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS issue is ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.  Just WHO OWNS the USA--the CITIZENS, or those who sneak across our border???

We ARE in a WAR here, and I am NOT talking about the one in Iraq.  I think the war in Iraq is a DISTRACTION to take our minds OFF what's going on RIGHT HERE.  If there is NO freedom in the United States of America, what hope is there for the rest of the world???

US Supreme Court Decision - Private property rights - Lloyd Corp. v. Tanner, 407 U.S. 551 (1972),

"In a U.S. Supreme court decision during the early 1970's.............., the Supreme Court said a place of business does not become public property just because the public is invited in. By that same reasoning, a restaurant or bar is not public property."

Smoking bans on PRIVATE PROPERTY are ALREADY Unconstitutional.  So, they're after our animals too, and the People's Republic of New York has just banned doughnuts (transfats).  Some state last year was trying to ban fireplaces.  Some of them want BIG SIN TAXES on SODA now, as well.  Isn't COMMUNISM (COMMUNAL PROPERTY) wonderful ??? <NOT!!!>

Yes, I'm obsessed. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT TO LIVE IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY.  I have 6 kids & 7 grandkids (so far) and I don't want THEM to live in a communist country.  For those who don't 'get it' yet, please check these out:
