Their First Match On January 28, 2001 - when they were just 3 months and 1 day old, 5 of the 6 puppies in this litter performed in their very first AKC match. It was at Southern Indiana KC. Several Farley children helped handle the puppies. We had Honey, Ruby, Ariel, and Major. We also still had Hosanna Promised Land - now called 'Zowie'. He has since gone to his new home in Pennsylvania. I handled Major in his class, and my son Richard (9 then) handled Zowie. Major was having a GOOD time, but he decided he didn't want to gait. Rather than spoil his fun, I picked him up and carried him around the ring, so Richard and Zowie won the class. Then Richard took Zowie into WD, competing with a 9-12 month puppy handled by his adult breeder - and WON : ). Continued................. |

Then our friend, Cherie Budka handled Honey in the under 6 month puppy bitch class, Rose Farley (12) handled Ariel, and Edwin Farley (14) handled Ruby. Honey won her class. Then I took Honey into WB, and she won over a 9-12 month puppy bitch from a top breeder! Honey ended up with BOB and Zowie was BOS (still handled by Richard). Richard was SO excited! It was only the second time he'd ever handled at a match. -- Honey also got Group III in a large group (handled by Cherie again)! Also, we brought Samson Sings Hosanna (these pup's grandpa), Hosanna Precious Gift (handled by Cherie), and Hosanna's Scarlet Rose (handled by Rose Farley). to compete in the adult classes. Scarlet and Precious are 1/2 sisters to these pups. There was also adult competition from other breeders. Samson was BOB and Group II (adult - handled by me - fair sized group), and Precious was BOS! A good time was had by all. ***** |
